Engineered for Performance

The Machina skid plate for the Suzuki V-Strom 800 and V-Strom 800DE protects the exposed underside — the engine sump, exhaust headers, and lower engine casing — from the rocks and debris thrown up on gravel, broken roads, and light off-road riding. Made from 3mm aluminium with an angular, rock-deflecting shape, it glides over obstacles instead of catching on them.

Crucially, it mounts to the frame — not the engine. This is the design V-Strom riders consistently ask for: a frame-mounted plate sends any impact into the chassis rather than loading the engine cases. It installs together with the Machina V-Strom 800 crash bars and pairs with the full range of Machina V-Strom 800 products. All mounting hardware is included.

Note: the base V-Strom 800 may require Suzuki's accessory lower frame depending on configuration — confirm your bike's setup before ordering. Bolt-on installation with no drilling or permanent modifications, approximately 20 minutes. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate mount to the frame or the engine?

The frame — nothing loads the engine. This is the design the V-Strom community specifically asks for, because a frame-mounted plate sends any impact into the chassis rather than into the engine cases. The Machina V-Strom 800 plate is fully frame-mounted.

Will the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate fit with crash bars?

Yes — the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate is designed to install together with the Machina V-Strom 800 crash bars, and it pairs with the full range of Machina V-Strom 800 products for the bike.

What does the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate protect?

The plate covers the engine sump, exhaust headers, and lower engine casing — the components most exposed to road debris and gravel impacts on the V-Strom 800 platform. The angular shape also deflects and glides over rocks rather than snagging on them.

Does the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate fit the 800DE and the base 800?

It fits the V-Strom 800 platform. The 800DE fits directly. For the base V-Strom 800, Suzuki's accessory lower frame may be required depending on your bike's configuration — confirm your setup before ordering.

Is the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate a real bash plate or just a deflector?

It is a 3mm aluminium frame-mounted plate built for gravel, broken roads, and light off-road use — genuine protection for the sump, headers, and lower casing. The angular rock-deflection geometry is shaped to glide over obstacles, but the underlying structure is a full protection plate, not a thin stone shield.

How long does the Machina V-Strom 800 skid plate take to install?

Approximately 20 minutes. The plate bolts on to existing frame mounting points with no drilling or permanent modifications. All mounting hardware is included. Standard spanners and allen keys are all you need.
