The Machina skid plate for the Kawasaki Versys 1100 protects the exposed forward components — oil filter, front exhaust headers, and oil pan — from road debris and unexpected obstacles. Built from 3mm aluminium, it mounts to the frame across four anchor points: two front struts and two rear brackets, with the OEM side fairings retained, loosened and refitted during install rather than discarded.
Where it differs from heavier alternatives is the rear-right anchor: the Machina plate uses a simpler single-side mount instead of a long bolt passed all the way through the frame. The result is easier installation and simpler future servicing — you do not need to work both sides of the bike at once — while still giving a secure, fully frame-mounted fit. Rubber isolators at the mounts damp the inline-four's vibration instead of amplifying it, preventing rattle at highway speed.
Compatible with Machina Versys 1100 crash bars. The 3mm aluminium thickness suits the Versys 1100's road-biased character without unnecessary weight. Bolt-on with no drilling or permanent modifications, approximately 20 minutes. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

To the frame, across four points — two front struts and two rear brackets. The OEM side fairings stay on; they are just loosened and refitted during installation. No drilling or permanent modifications required.
Instead of a long bolt passing all the way through the frame — which needs access to both sides of the bike — the Machina plate uses a simpler single-side rear anchor. Easier to fit and easier to service later, without compromising the security of a fully frame-mounted plate.
It covers the engine underside including the oil filter and front exhaust headers — not just the sump. These are the components most exposed to road debris on the Versys 1100 and the most likely to be struck on broken roads and gravel.
No — the Machina plate uses rubber isolators at the mounts, which damp the inline-four's vibration instead of amplifying it. Rattle at speed is the most common complaint with rigidly-bolted plates on inline-four engines; the isolators prevent it.
No — the Versys 1100 and Versys 1000 use the same mounting design but different plate lengths. This listing is for the Versys 1100 (2025+) only. Always confirm your model before ordering.
Approximately 20 minutes. The OEM fairings are loosened and refitted rather than removed completely, keeping the install straightforward. No drilling, no permanent modifications. All hardware is included.
