The Machina skid plate for the BMW F900 GS gives this adventure bike genuine underbody protection where the factory pan falls short. The F900 GS comes with a plastic belly pan that offers minimal protection against real impacts. The Machina plate is 3mm aluminium and covers the full underside — sump, lower engine cases, and exhaust — mounting to the bottom of the engine across multiple points so any impact is distributed, not concentrated.
Rubber shock absorbers sit between the plate and the engine, damping vibration and softening impacts — the same isolation principle that protects the engine cases from stress. Durable rubber grommets resist the break-and-lodge problem that affects this engine family with cheaper plates. Oil-change access is built in, so you do not need to remove the plate for routine servicing.
Note: the F900 GS and F900 GSA use separate, correctly-sized plates — this listing is for the GS only. Compatible with all crash bars on the market, and pairs with all Machina F900 GS products. Bolt-on installation in approximately 20 minutes with standard tools and all hardware included. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

The F900 GS's factory plastic belly pan is styled for appearance and light splash protection — it is not designed to take rock impacts. The Machina plate is 3mm aluminium built to absorb real hits, covering the sump, lower engine cases, and exhaust — the components that take damage when things go wrong on gravel or trail riding.
The Machina plate uses rubber shock absorbers between the plate and the engine, damping the F900's vibration instead of transferring it directly to the plate. It also uses durable rubber grommets specifically to avoid the break-and-lodge-in-the-oil-pan failure that affects this engine family on cheaper, rigid-mount plates.
Yes — oil-change access is built into the Machina plate design, so routine servicing does not require removing the plate.
Yes. Because the plate mounts at the engine points rather than competing with the crash-bar mounts, it is compatible with all crash bars on the market for the F900 GS.
No — the F900 GS and F900 GSA use separate, correctly-sized plates. The GSA is longer than the GS and requires its own plate. This listing is for the F900 GS only. Order the wrong version and it will not fit correctly — always confirm your model before ordering.
Approximately 20 minutes. The Machina plate bolts on to existing engine mounting points with no drilling or permanent modifications. Standard tools are sufficient and all mounting hardware is included with the plate.
