Engineered for Performance

The Machina tyre hugger for the BMW R1300 GS and R1300 GSA (2023+) mounts directly to the EVO Paralever casing and intercepts spray, grit, and debris before it reaches the rear shock absorber and suspension linkage. Every kilometre in the wet throws road debris at your shock — this guard stops it before it gets there.

The ABS guard is supported by a powder-coated aluminium bracket that attaches to the EVO Paralever using existing mounting points — no drilling, no modification to the shaft drive system. The aluminium bracket resists corrosion under prolonged wet-road exposure, and holds its position through vibration and long-distance riding. Matte black finish matches OEM R1300 GS bodywork tone.

Fits both the R1300 GS and R1300 GSA (2023 onwards). Road tyres only — remove before fitting knobby or high-profile adventure tyres. For full rear protection, pair with the Machina Splash Guard Extension for the R1300 GS, which protects pillion and luggage while this guard protects your suspension. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Machina tyre hugger protect on the BMW R1300 GS?

It protects the rear shock absorber, the EVO Paralever suspension linkage, and pivot bearings from road spray, grit, and stone strikes. These components are directly in the firing line of rear tyre spray on every wet ride.

Does the Machina R1300 GS tyre hugger require drilling or affect the shaft drive?

No on both counts. It mounts to the EVO Paralever casing using existing mounting points — no drilling, no modification to the shaft drive system. The shaft drive is untouched.

Will the Machina tyre hugger fit with road tyres and adventure tyres?

It's designed for road-biased dual-sport tyres such as the Michelin Anakee or Metzeler Tourance. Knobby or high-profile adventure tyres may foul the hugger — remove it before fitting those and refit when you return to road rubber.

Does it obstruct access to the rear brake caliper?

No. Service access to the rear brake caliper is fully maintained. The hugger is positioned to clear all service points.

Should I also fit the Machina Splash Guard Extension alongside the tyre hugger?

For full rear protection, yes. The tyre hugger protects your shock absorber and suspension linkage from grit and spray. The Machina Splash Guard Extension for the R1300 GS complements it by protecting your pillion passenger and rear luggage. They are designed to work together.

How long does installation take on the R1300 GS?

Approximately 20–35 minutes with a basic socket set — no specialist tools required. All bolts and fasteners are included.
