The Machina skid plate for the BMW R1250 GS and R1250 GSA delivers full-coverage underbody protection using a frame-mounted design that keeps impact loads off the engine. It shields the most exposed and expensive components beneath the boxer engine — the oil pan, exhaust headers, and catalytic converter — from rock strikes and ground contact on gravel, forest roads, and trails.
Made from 3mm aluminium with a black powder-coat finish, the plate anchors to the frame at four points rather than bolting to the engine. Two front points use the lower crash-bar mounting locations, and two rear points replace the centre-stand pins with supplied bolts that also retain the plate. Because impact is carried into the chassis rather than the engine cases, this is the protection approach experienced boxer-engine riders most prefer.
The same plate fits both the GS and GSA with no separate part numbers, and it is compatible with OEM lower crash bars and most aftermarket lower crash bars. It also clears the billet cylinder covers on Option 719 and 40th Anniversary editions, clears the front fender extender, and allows oil changes without removing the plate.

Yes. The same Machina skid plate fits both the BMW R1250 GS and R1250 GSA (2019–2023) with no separate part numbers. It is also compatible with Option 719 and 40th Anniversary editions, as the frame and centre-stand mounting approach clears the billet cylinder covers.
The Machina skid plate is frame-mounted at four points rather than bolting to the engine. The two front points use the lower crash-bar mounting locations, and the two rear points replace the centre-stand pins with supplied bolts that also retain the plate. This carries any impact into the chassis rather than the expensive boxer engine cases.
The plate provides full bottom coverage, shielding the entire underside of the boxer engine — from the leading edge of the exhaust headers back to the catalytic converter and oil pan. These are the components most vulnerable to rock strikes and ground contact, and the most costly to repair if damaged.
Yes. Because the front mounting points are low and use common locations, the plate is compatible with OEM lower crash bars and most aftermarket lower crash bars. Riders are not locked into a single crash-bar brand to use this skid plate.
Yes. Oil-change access is built into the design, so routine servicing can be done without removing the plate. The plate is made from 3mm aluminium with a black powder-coat finish for strength and corrosion resistance.
