The Machina skid plate for the Kove 800X covers the underside of the engine, from the sump to the lower frame rails. It shields the oil filter, sump and exhaust routing from rocks, ruts and grounding on broken roads, where a single hit can crack a casing and end a ride.
The plate is carbon steel and bolts to the 800X's existing mounting points under the frame.

What is the Machina skid plate for the Kove 800X made of?
Carbon steel. Steel is tough and can often be straightened after an impact instead of cracking.
How do I install the Machina skid plate on my Kove 800X?
It bolts to the Kove 800X's mounting points under the engine with basic hand tools. Fit all bolts loosely first, line the plate up, then tighten evenly. Any mechanic can fit it if you'd rather not do it yourself.
Is the Machina skid plate suitable for riding the Kove 800X in India?
Yes. Tall speed breakers, potholes, flying stones and broken ghat roads are exactly what a skid plate is for. It keeps the sump and lower engine of your Kove 800X safe from hits that could crack a casing and leave you stranded far from a service centre.
Can I still change the oil with the Machina skid plate fitted to my Kove 800X?
Check drain-plug and filter access when you first fit the plate. If access is tight on your model, the plate comes off with its mounting bolts in a few minutes for servicing.
