The Machina skid plate for the Kawasaki Versys 1000 protects the exposed forward components — oil filter, front exhaust headers, and oil pan — from road debris and the occasional unexpected obstacle. Built from 3mm aluminium, it mounts to the frame across four anchor points: two front struts and two rear brackets, with the OEM side plastics retained, loosened and refitted during install rather than discarded.

Where it differs from heavier alternatives is the rear-right anchor: the Machina plate uses a simpler single-side mount instead of a long bolt passed all the way through the frame. The result is easier installation and simpler future servicing. Rubber isolators at the mounts damp the inline-four's vibration buzz instead of amplifying it, preventing the rattle that is the most common complaint with rigidly-bolted plates on this engine.

Compatible with Machina Versys 1000 crash bars. Bolt-on with no drilling or permanent modifications, approximately 20 minutes. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

It bolts to the Kawasaki Versys 1000's mounting points under the engine with basic hand tools. Fit all bolts loosely first, line the plate up, then tighten evenly. Any mechanic can fit it if you'd rather not do it yourself.
