The Machina skid plate for the Suzuki V-Strom 800 and V-Strom 800DE protects the exposed underside — the engine sump, exhaust headers, and lower engine casing — from the rocks and debris thrown up on gravel, broken roads, and light off-road riding. Made from 3mm aluminium with an angular, rock-deflecting shape, it glides over obstacles instead of catching on them.
Crucially, it mounts to the frame — not the engine. This is the design V-Strom riders consistently ask for: a frame-mounted plate sends any impact into the chassis rather than loading the engine cases. It installs together with the Machina V-Strom 800 crash bars and pairs with the full range of Machina V-Strom 800 products. All mounting hardware is included.
Note: the base V-Strom 800 may require Suzuki's accessory lower frame depending on configuration — confirm your bike's setup before ordering. Bolt-on installation with no drilling or permanent modifications, approximately 20 minutes. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

Be the first to share your experience! It is made specifically for the Suzuki V-Strom 800 / V-Strom 800DE. Fitment can change between model years, so if you're unsure about yours, send Machina your bike's year and a photo on WhatsApp before ordering.
3 mm aluminium. Aluminium is strong for its weight and does not rust, so it copes with rain, mud and road spray.
It bolts to the Suzuki V-Strom 800 / V-Strom 800DE's mounting points under the engine with basic hand tools. Fit all bolts loosely first, line the plate up, then tighten evenly. Any mechanic can fit it if you'd rather not do it yourself.
Yes. Tall speed breakers, potholes, flying stones and broken ghat roads are exactly what a skid plate is for. It keeps the sump and lower engine of your Suzuki V-Strom 800 / V-Strom 800DE safe from hits that could crack a casing and leave you stranded far from a service centre.
Check drain-plug and filter access when you first fit the plate. If access is tight on your model, the plate comes off with its mounting bolts in a few minutes for servicing.
