The Machina skid plate for the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gives this off-road-ready adventure bike the underbody protection it badly needs. The X300 has no frame cradle beneath the engine, leaving the oil pan, lower engine cases, and the components behind the front wheel exposed on every gravel road and trail. This 3mm aluminium plate, finished in black powder coat, shields the engine belly and bolts to the frame — not to the fragile oil-pan tabs that cause cracked sumps on cheaper plates.
It mounts at four frame points on both sides of the engine using the existing OEM hardware — no drilling required. It fits with the OEM plastic shrouds still in place, so the bike keeps its finished look and the side sensor is not exposed. A functional V-shaped airflow channel and front ventilation holes keep air moving over the engine, and the smooth underside slides over obstacles cleanly.
Oil changes require plate removal via the OEM bolts. Bolt-on with no drilling or permanent modifications, approximately 20 minutes. Designed and tested on Indian roads by MACHINA.

3 mm aluminium. Aluminium is strong for its weight and does not rust, so it copes with rain, mud and road spray.
It bolts to the Kawasaki Versys-X 300's mounting points under the engine with basic hand tools. Fit all bolts loosely first, line the plate up, then tighten evenly. Any mechanic can fit it if you'd rather not do it yourself.
Yes. Tall speed breakers, potholes, flying stones and broken ghat roads are exactly what a skid plate is for. It keeps the sump and lower engine of your Kawasaki Versys-X 300 safe from hits that could crack a casing and leave you stranded far from a service centre.
Check drain-plug and filter access when you first fit the plate. If access is tight on your model, the plate comes off with its mounting bolts in a few minutes for servicing.
